Overview
The Challenge -
Build The AI For YOU 2026 is a student-led Open Innovation Challenge built around a simple idea: don't wait for a problem statement β find one. There's no fixed theme. You choose a real-world problem you actually care about, and build an AI-powered solution to it.
The journey runs in stages, not a single overnight sprint. First, submit your idea. If it's shortlisted, you get a focused 5-day build window to turn it into a working prototype. Finalists pitch their solutions live to a judging panel for prizes and recognition.
It starts with an expert-led seminar on practical AI thinking and real-world application β designed to sharpen how you spot problems worth solving before you start building.
What You Can Build -
Any domain, any problem β as long as AI plays a meaningful role in the solution. That could mean:
A tool that solves a real inefficiency you've personally noticed (in education, health, daily life, local communities, etc.)
A product powered by an AI model, API, or workflow that does real work β not a bolted-on chatbot
A working MVP you can demo, deploy, and explain end-to-end
There's no restriction on tech stack or industry. The bar is: does AI genuinely do something useful here, and can you defend how it works?
