About this event
Outland Delhi is an immersive, real-world Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that transforms Delhi into a city-wide playing field for investigation, cryptography, problem-solving, and strategic competition.
The experience revolves around investigating the disappearance of a journalist and uncovering a larger mystery through interconnected clues, puzzles, and real-world locations. Participants must collaborate with their teammates, interpret information, decode encrypted messages, navigate Delhi, and make strategic decisions under time pressure.
Format and Process:
Preliminary Round (18 October 2026): A cryptic online hunt designed to test participants' deductive reasoning, pattern recognition, and puzzle-solving abilities.
Main Event (25 October 2026): A city-wide, team-based competition involving the Delhi Metro, multiple physical locations, interconnected challenges, and strategic navigation.
Team Format: Teams of four participants, with flexibility for teams of three to five.
Rules: Participants must solve challenges in sequence where required, follow event instructions, comply with applicable laws and public safety guidelines, and compete fairly. All travel and location-based activities must be conducted safely and respectfully.
Eligibility: Open to participants aged 13–19. No prior ARG, cryptography, or competitive puzzle-solving experience is required.
Registration and Participation: Registration for the preliminary round is free. A participation contribution may apply to the main event, subject to the organisers' published terms.
The event combines elements of escape rooms, urban exploration, detective fiction, geocaching, and competitive strategy to create an interdisciplinary learning and problem-solving experience.
